Société des Ocres de France

The firm has quarried and washed ochre at Apt since 1901, beside the last working ochre quarry in Europe at Gargas. Four generations of one family, awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant mark in 2017.

The colour is made here, and the range follows from it: limewashes (Badisof, Badisof Plus), lime renders (Sofodor, Sofolith), tadelakt, tinted plasters, flour paints — and the card of natural pigments all of them are drawn from.
